On Thursday June 10th at 6:03 a.m., our beloved mother, Alice Delorise Gill Ragland peacefully fell into her restful sleep. Alice was born on December 9, 1954 to the late Robert T. Gill Sr. and Josephine Person Gill in Henderson, North Carolina.

She attended Oak Grove School in Dabney. She loved singing, art and cooking. She also loved attending Jesus House of Prayer. Her time at home was spent singing while her brother Jerry played the bass guitar. Alice later worked as a supervisor at Christian Care and Walmart of Henderson, North Carolina where she retired.

She attended The Kingdom Hall and enjoyed Bible Study and studying the Ministry. She loved her family and connecting with them and friends through Face Book, giving unconditional love.  She also loved  her fur babies, Chi Chi and Jr. (her dogs).

She was preceded in death by her life-time love, Benjamin Dicky for over twenty years; Alonzo Ray Ragland, husband; four brothers, Robert Gill Jr., Billy Gill, Elijah Gill, and Richard Gill; three sisters, Ruth Twiggs Gill, Cora Bell Rucker and Nancy B. Watson; two grandsons, Kalir Ragland and Quashid Ragland and her lovely fur baby, Tobey.

Her legacy is her four children; Tamika Ragland Wynn (William), Latasha Ragland McNeil (Christopher), Rashid Ragland, Shanita Ragland Williams (Emmanuel) all of Henderson, North Carolina; one brother, Jerry T. Gill (Grace) of Henderson, North Carolina; one sister, Jackie Gill Townes of Henderson, North Carolina; twelve grandchildren; Samonica, Andrew, Tynisha, Seandarius, Jamonica, Jamarie, Ashaureah, Quadysia, Aviyona, Teligah, Kamei and Kemari; eleven great-grandchildren; Camoren, Kjersten (Yanie), Jaziah, Anala, Audrina, Tatum, Quest, Journey, Nevaeh (Rose), Lyric, Za'Kyla and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other loving relatives.

Viewing will be held on Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at Baskerville Funeral Home Chapel from noon to 6:00 p.m.

Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, June 16, 2021 at Blacknall Cemetery at 2:00 p.m.
