Dorothy Elizabeth Bullock Royster, daughter of the late Deacon Rufus and Pearl Irene Green Bullock was born on September 24, 1930 in Vance County, North Carolina. She entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, May 20, 2020 at home with her family.

She was a lifelong member of Ashley Grove Baptist Church of Henderson, North Carolina, where she served on the Kitchen Committee for many years.

Dorothy was educated in the Granville County Public School System. She was employed with JP Taylor Tobacco Company until retirement.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Deacon Leonard Royster; one son, Donald Royster; three brothers, James Bullock, Otis Bullock and Rufus Bullock, Jr. and one sister, Ada Ruth Bullock Smith.

Dorothy leaves to cherish her life and memories her granddaughter, Shaw'nta Royster of Henderson, North Carolina; one grandson, Donavon Royster of Henderson, North Carolina; two god grandchildren, Desmond Gill and Kimberly Gill of Henderson, North Carolina; two god great grandchildren of Henderson, North Carolina; a daughter-in-law, Yvette Chambers Royster of Oxford, North Carolina. She is also survived by three loving siblings; one sister, Lucy Bullock Terry of Henderson, North Carolina; two brothers, Burnell (Dora) Bullock of Richmond, Virginia and Joseph Bullock of Henderson, North Carolina; two sisters-in-law, Margaret Kinton and Frances Dunston both of Oxford, North Carolina; a brother-in-law, Phillip (Verdell) Jordan of Oxford, North Carolina; many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, caring friends, acquaintances, caregivers and aides.

Viewing will be held at Baskerville Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, May 27, 2020 from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Due the Coronavirus, a private funeral service will be held at Ashley Grove Baptist Church on Thursday, May 28, 2020 at 2:00 p.m.
