Mrs. Karen Jordan Ragland was born August 23,1962 to the late Charlie Harris and Ann Harris in Brooklyn, New York. She graduated from Northern Vance High School in Vance County.

She soon met the love of her life and married Nathaniel Ragland. She loved to spend time with her children, grandchildren and godchildren .  She will be truly missed and loved.

She was preceded in death by her parents; grandmother, Morlie Taylor Harris; father-in-law, James Ragland; aunts and uncles, Rebecca Thornton, Clarence Harris, Francis Harris, Mary Elizabeth Harris, Betsie Harris, Ned Harris; sister-in-law, Carrie Ragland; niece, Leslie Ragland and nephew, Elvin Wright Jr.

She leaves to cherish her husband, Nathaniel Ragland; daughters Markisha Jordan of Henderson, North Carolina and Jessica Perry of Raleigh, North Carolina; grandchildren, Ashley Newell, Jasmine Newell, Jonathan Newell, Shameah Phillips, Omar Carr, Jeriyah Johnson, Jeremiah Johnson and Jeron Johnson; best friend for over 40 years, Janice Hargrove; godchildren she loved as her own, Tyquetta Bullock, Cashey Klotz and Monae Parker; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, July 24, 2022 at Baskerville Funeral Home Chapel at 104 S. Chestnut Street, Henderson, North Carolina at 2:00 p.m.
