Lucille Davis was born April 29, 1935 in Warren County, North Carolina to the late Willie and Ida Hargrove. She departed this life on April 17, 2022. (Resurrection Sunday) at the age of 86.

Lucille was saved and baptized at an early age and joined Oak Level United Church of Christ. She always enjoyed Sunday school and worship services with family and friends. Lucille was a member of the senior choir and loved singing.

During high school she met and later married Clarence Davis. Sr. and to this union five children were born.

Lucille assisted her husband in farming for  20 years, afterwards, she was employed by Henderson Cotton  Mill for 20 years and then worked for 10 years at Middleburg Truck Stop before retiring.

Lucille's favorite past time was shopping for new clothes.

She was preceded in death by her adopted parents and her biological parents. She was also preceded in death by her daughters; Ida Mae Davis and Sally Beth Johnson (Wayne); six brothers, Robert Lee, Lint, Wilbur, Richard, Theodore, John Henry and four sisters; Louise, Estelle, Nettie and Dorothy.

She leaves precious memories with her husband of over 71 years, Deacon Clarence Davis, Sr.  of the home; three sons, Pastor Clarence (Singus) Davis Jr. of Jacksonville, Florida, Donald (Sequence)Davis of Manson, North Carolina and Thermon (Karen) Davis of   Jacksonville, Florida; one sister, Fannie Tally of Warrenton, NC; seven grandchildren, Natasha and Nakia of New York, Daesha and Devante of Georgia, Wayne Deshunn Johnson of North Carolina, Shanta Johnson and Samantha Lee (Andrew Jr.)  all of Georgia; five great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.

Viewing will be held on Friday, April 22, 2022 at Baskerville Funeral Home Chapel at 104 South Chestnut Street, Henderson, North Carolina from noon to 6:00 p.m.

Service will be held at Minister's Outreach Tabernacle, 925 Lehman Street, Henderson, NC on Saturday, April 23, 2022 at 11:00 a.m.

Interment: Oak Level United Church of Christ Cemetery, 5631 Jacksontown Rd, Manson, NC 27553

Masks are required for all services.
