Lucy Irene Bullock Terry 96, daughter of the late Deacon Rufus and the late Pearl Green Bullock, was born on August 10, 1928, in Vance County, North Carolina. She transitioned to her Heavenly Home on Sunday, October 6, 2024, at her Dabney Community home with her devoted family in the stillness of a Willing Spirit.

Lucy accepted Christ at an early age.   She was baptized and joined Ashley Grove Baptist Church in the Nutbush Community.  She loved GOD and HIS WORD and understood the value of being faithful and dedicated to GOD.  One of her favorite memories of serving her Church was being a part of the Kitchen Committee.  She served for many years. Lucy herself, was a tremendous cook.

Lucy was educated in the public schools of Vance County, attending Cedar Springs School on Satterwhite Point Road. She was employed with Douglas Drug Store on Horner Street in Henderson and later with JP Taylor Tobacco Company in Henderson until her retirement.

Lucy was married to Alex A. Terry, who preceded her in death in February 2016. To this union four children were born.

She is survived by three dedicated daughters, Elizabeth T. Johnson of Courtlandt Manor, New York, Rebecca T. Jordan and Dorothy T. Justice of the home in Henderson, North Carolina; and one dedicated son, Ozon Terry and wife, Linda of Henderson, North Carolina; nine grandchildren, Brad Turner of Tarrytown, New York, Jay Turner of White Plains, New York, Robin Turner of Courtlandt Manor, New York, Dwayne Turner (wife Wendy) of Port St. Lucie, Florida, Shannon Jordan of Creedmoor, North Carolina, Thurman "Sandy" Jordan of Raleigh, North Carolina, Shaundalyn Thomas (husband Kianga) of Hampton, Virginia, Demauris Terry (wife Vayakone) of Escondido, California, and Morgan Payne (husband William) of Charlotte North Carolina; seventeen great grandchildren, Niah, Zaira, Meraiya, Knowledge, Akin, Chyna, Jordan, Olivia, Tyler, Erin, Harrison, Hayden, Kayla, Greyson, Emma, Brianna and William "Tre"; three great great grandchildren, Jordyn, Layla and Zhuri; two brothers, Burnell Bullock and wife Dora of Richmond, Virginia, Joseph Bullock of Henderson, North Carolina; one sister in law, Reverend Lillie T. McKnight of Henderson, North Carolina; a chosen son, Reverend John Earl Reid Sr. and wife Ernestine of Gordonsville, Virginia; two chosen grandchildren; four chosen great grandchildren; one chosen great great grandchild; many nephews, nieces, cousins and a loved Church Family.

Preceding her in death were two sisters, Dorothy B. Royster and Ada Ruth Smith; her three brothers, James Bullock, Otis Bullock and Rufus Bullock Jr.

Viewing will be held at Baskerville Funeral Home Chapel, 104 S. Chestnut Street, Henderson, North Carolina from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 10, 2024.

Service will be held at Ashley Grove Baptist Church, 2425 Nutbush Road, Henderson, North Carolina on Friday, October 11, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. The body will lie in view one hour prior to the service.

Interment will be held at the church cemetery immediately following the service.
