Stanley
Tremble
Jul 21, 1940 — Aug 24, 2021
Henderson
God blessed the world with Stanley Tremble on July 21, 1940 to the late Doris and Fred Tremble, Sr. in Passaic, New Jersey.
Soon after the birth of Stanley as a toddler, God called home his birth mother, Doris. Enter, Mattie Smith, Stan referred to Mattie as the only mother he knew until her death in 1991. Father Fred passed into eternity in 1983 followed by his brother Fred, Jr. in 1992.
Stanley attended the Passaic School System until he decided to enlist into the United States Army. Sergeant Stanley Tremble was the recipient of over fifteen commendations including but not limited to the Vietnam Service Medal, The Presidential Citation and four Bronze Battle Stars.
Other civic affiliations include the American Legion Post 247 and the Albert Lawson VFW Post 200 both in Passaic, New Jersey.
Starsky, as he was called, especially in his native New Jersey is where he met and married on July 11, 1964 the love of his life, the late Rosavelt "Rose" Bullock Tremble. Rose returned to the Lord on June 28, 2007 in Henderson, North Carolina.
Our beloved Stan was a former member and trustee of the New Faith Baptist Church where his pastor was the Reverend Eugene Durham, Sr.
Stan and Rose relocated to Henderson, North Carolina in 2005. While in North Carolina, they became an icon and regular fixture throughout the social culture and roads of Vance County.
Stan was well liked and will be remembered for his wisdom, charismatic style, picturesque Cadillac, skills in playing cards (tunk, pittypat, poker and deuces) and his favorite, the unpredictable "SCRATCH OFFS".
Stan leaves to cherish his legacy three amazing daughters, Dana Godette, Tarah Godette and Mildred Brown all of New Jersey; one loving brother, Gary Smith of Passaic, New Jersey; two beloved and adoring sisters, Dorothy A. Durham (Rev. Eugene Durham, Sr.) of Henderson, North Carolina and Kathy L. Smith of Passaic, New Jersey; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends to many to mention.
